Cannonball

As some of you know, I recently had the trip of a life time. My stepdad partook in the Motorcycle Cannonball Endurance Race. He drove a 1927 Harley Davidson JD from Portland, Maine to Portland, Oregon. 

 This trip was everything I could have absolutely ever wanted it to be. I got to travel with my mom, my stepdad, my stepdad's brother and his wife. So my aunt and uncle. How amazing. I got the chance to hang out with them for 3 weeks. I got to know them. To spend time with them. Not every one gets to do that. This time was so precious to me. This was something that I will value forever in my life. We drove across the country together, experienced a ton of things together. What a beautiful life I live.

Deciding to freeze my eggs was not an easy decision. I had gone back and forth. A few years ago I went to an OBGYN within my health coverage, within our system they don't do it, but she gave me the places that my insurance covers. The struggle with self worth (the journey)

Warning: long post ahead. Probably hard to follow but that's how this works. Okay, so about five years ago, you know I was in counseling for struggling with abandonment issues. My dad was an alcoholic and even though that felt completely normal, that's all I knew. Well fast forward to now-ish and I started in a relationship and the reality of the situation became clearer. It was clear to me (and likely my significant other) that I definitely needed to go back to counseling.  I made an appointment with my counselor that I had used prior because A) I love her and she's fan-freaking- tastic, B) she knew my history and we had a great rapport.  I'm unsure if you've (whomever you are reading this) has ever been to counseling and heck, maybe it's different for everyone, but it can be hard to express yourself. One thing I don't share easily, or really to just anyone, is that I went to counseling for about three years during nursing school and after. The part about going to counseling isn't the part that makes it challenging to share, but the reasons why I thought I needed to go to counseling. Talking about this and opening it up will make me extremely vulnerable to anyone who reads this, however, if it helps someone struggling like I did, feel like I do now after counseling, then my vulnerability is well worth it.  It wasn't an easy choice to decide that I needed to go to counseling. It was a lot of heartache, depression and extreme anxiety. However, on top of that, I had a good cousin tell me it's not normal, and a good friend pretty much tell me - I think you have issues, I think you need to talk to a counselor, you may even have 'fear of abandonment'.  So back up, what kind of issues did I have?
