The topic of men

Yesterday I met up with my male friend, Danny, that I have been friends with since high school. When he’s in town we often get together and catch up. We are both aware of each other’s dating lives and the ups and downs those have caused.  We got on the topic of men. And my dating life, like we often do. It’s often complicated to be completely honest and straight forward to people in person. I can be to many people but it has to be the right person, right environment and right situation of course.   Anyway, in today’s world people (specifically) men don’t acknowledge their emotions. They don’t validate them, and they don’t work through them. It’s terrible. And on top of that, they don’t communicate their emotions in respectful way. Okay. This isn’t just men, many woman are this way too — I’m just upset at men because that’s all I find it with.  I find it so frustrating that a man can be putting effort in and then because something tough comes up, some challenges them, thin...

The New Year

As the new year has started...today. I have of course seen many facebook/instagram posts about goals for the future or reflecting on the last year. Sometimes I enjoy reading them..and sometimes I just think "Oh brother" and roll my eyes, is it necessary? But as I think (and reflect), I think it is important to acknowledge what we've been through and the struggles we have gotten through. Along with the things to be grateful and thankful for.  2018 was a good year! My life is all in place. I have a house, a good job, wonderful friends and family. In the early part of the year, we (as a family -- Mom, Mike, my brother and his wife, my stepsiblings and their significant others) all went to Memphis. What an  experience  that was. Live  music, Graceland, Beale Street, a huge pyramid, and a million pounds of pulled pork.  In September my stepdad, Mike, decided he should drive an old (like 90+ year old) motorcycle across the country, the Motorcycle Cannonball ...

Only me?

Here I am, just minding my own business, doing my nails. Long story short I have really weak nails regardless of if I paint them or not. So I started doing the dip powder at home.  ANYWAY, the top coat had been stringy the first nail or two last time and then it got better. So here I am doing my nails and I get to the top coat and I’m like “oh I’ll just wipe off that stringy part”. So I grab this ‘lint free nail wipe’ and do this. All of a sudden my thumb is on fire!!!! I kid you not my finger was smoking. Whether it was the chemicals or what... holy smokes (haha no pun intended). I had to rip the cloth off my finger. And it is still throbbing.  I think this is the start of a blister— fuckin’ fantastic.  I’ll just sit in shame over here  xoxo Breezy

Monday

Image
Well usually my Mondays aren’t typically like a Monday because I don’t work a 9-5 job. Today was slightly different. I work up after not sleeping the best, got ready went to the DMV— AN HOUR WAIT! I have NEVER had to wait that long. Whatever, I wasn’t in a rush so I was just thankful I had all the paperwork I needed AND it only took an hour versus two.  I then went to Costco where I spent more than I needed to... which wasn’t part of the plan. I was just going to go in for something I had ordered.  I got home and was like... YAAAAAS NAP TIME— because I work over night and need to be able to make it of course. Then I realized it.... I had been wearing my underwear on inside out!! How this happens— I have no clue. But at least it wasn’t a type of underwear where it would be super obvious that you were wearing inside out. So I feel better about my life.  On another note... my Christmas tree looks BOMB!!! This year I got all new decor and did gold and red!  And here is m...

Daddy's girl

As I was getting ready for my day of work today, mind you it was 5:00 pm, I was listening to Christmas music. And it popped into my head how the first year after my dad died I couldn't listen to Christmas music. It was the hardest thing for me. It reminded me of him, it made me sad, it literally tore my heart out. It felt like someone had stabbed my heart out.  I remember specifically I was so excited to listen to Christmas music (because if you know me, I am ALL ABOUT IT). I started playing it in the living room and as soon as I did I sat against the wall and bawled my eyes out. Almost to the point of hyperventilating. I texted my mom and was just like how am I going to do this? I couldn't remember what she said, or what I even said after all of that, I just remember thinking - will Christmas music forever be ruined?  My dad was found dead on December 17th and his funeral was December 26th. It was right around the holidays, obviously. That being said, that ...

Women are fierce

Women are fierce! I was at the bar tonight. Some gentleman wanted to get by me to the bar and there was literally nowhere to go, I was back to back with the woman closest to the bar, and he’s like I work here, I want to get a beer (he doesn’t work there for the record). I said no (I would just be pushed out of the way blah blah blah. He then went to call me a bitch. I usually don’t say much when it comes to this, but I’ve decided that I shouldn’t put up with that. I wasn’t being a bitch. I said something like “excuse me?” And blah blah blah. He also said “if you weren’t a woman I’d have you laid out on the ground” I laughed because even though I am female I probably could have taken him. But the point of “women are fierce” is that some woman that I don’t know who over heard got feisty and mad and up in his face and I ended up telling her that it wasn’t worth it. She didn’t know me but she knew he had disrespected me, even though maybe not super significantly, she had my back and was fi...

Single at 28

I am single. I have been for awhile. Now that's not to say I haven't had boyfriend and haven't been dating guys here and there, but nothing really sticks. I am a hopeless romantic. I want to be loved and love someone with all of my heart and vis versa. That seems like the best thing I could ever ask for. But so far, that just hasn't been in the cards for me.  I love my family, and I love every one of my friends and people I run into here and there. I KNOW from the bottom of my heart that people who ask if I've met anyone, or if there is someone special in my life, are genuinely curious and with good intentions. I believe they truly want me to find that love that they have found -- and trust me I want to find it too. However, (and I know this is a personal issue within myself) I feel I let people down every time I tell them that no, there is no one...still.  I have tried online dating, from dating apps to paying for online dating sites that have the reputation to...
